Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes. These tubes, the bronchi, connect the windpipe with the lungs. When the bronchi are inflamed and/or infected, less air is able to flow to and from the lungs and a heavy mucus or phlegm is coughed up.
SYMPTOMS of BRONCHITIS
Other signs and symptoms of bronchitis may include:
1. Respiration is somewhat raised
2. Overall malaise and slight fever
3. Continued cough which may bring up yellow-grey mucus (phlegm). This then leads to breathlessness and wheezing.
